Summer vacation for students will be from May 22, 2008 until August 10, 2008.  The 2008/2009 school year will begin on Monday, August 11, 2008 for all students.  School begins at 7:20 AM each day. 
Important Information for Student Drop-Off in the Mornings Last Changed

If you plan to drive your child to school, please make sure you drop off your student in the designated parent drop-off / pick-up area between the student parking lot and bus lane.  For everyone's safety, we also ask that parents not enter the bus lane to drop students off in the morning until all busses have left.
New Tardy Policy to Begin at GHS Last Changed

Attention all students and parents -- GHS will begin a new tardy policy this school year.  This will be reviewed with students during school; however, we also ask that all parents speak to their children about the importance of being at school and on time to classes each day.  The following will be the consequences for tardies this year:
 
GHS Tardies:
1st – 4th tardy   Warning
5th tardy   Saturday School (2hrs)  8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
6th tardy   Saturday School (4hrs)  8:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
7th tardy   One day of In-School Suspension & Parent notification of loss of parking on next tardy
8th tardy   Two days In-School Suspension & Loss of parking for two weeks (Parking fees are non-refundable)
9th tardy   Three days In-School Suspension & Loss of parking for four additional weeks & Behavior Contract (Parking fees are non-refundable)
10th tardy +      Discipline will be determined by administration and may include, but is not limited to, loss of parking privilege for six additional weeks, In-School Suspension, Out of School Suspension, and possible Out of School Suspension pending a county disciplinary panel
 
Technical Building Tardies:

Grayson High School has been named as a top high school and ranked in the top five percent of all public high schools in the nation in a recent article published by Newsweek magazine. Way to go GHS
Grayson High School Dress Code Policy Last Changed

Students at Grayson High School are expected to dress in a manner that is supportive of a positive learning environment that is free of distractions and disruptions.  There is a direct correlation between student dress and student behavior.  Appropriately, dressed students behave appropriately.

Students will be expected to observe modes of dress, styles of hair, and personal grooming that support the "First Comes Learning" atmosphere at Grayson.  Please click here for a copy of the Dress Code Policy.
 
Grayson High School Electronics Policy Last Changed

In accordance with GCPS policy, local school principals can set guidelines for the use of cell phones and/or electronic items on school grounds. Grayson Technical Program Now Accepting Phase II Applications for 2008-09 Last Changed

The Grayson Technical Education Program is now accepting Phase II applications.  Phase II applications will be accepted until programs are filled.    Applications may be picked up from the Grayson Technical
building front office or from any high school counseling office. Applications can be turned in directly to Grayson Technical or to home school counseling offices.  Many programs fill quickly, so students are encouraged to get applications in early.  
 
Do You Need Help Preparing for a Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT) or an End of Course Test (EOCT)? Last Changed

The web site www.usatestprep.com can be used by students from school or at home in preparation for a Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT) or an End of Course Test (EOCT).  Practice test games are available too!
